Louisa Krause was born in New York City. She performed the role of Anna Garner the leading role in The Girl Experience. Brenda Woodberg, her first film role, was played by Babysitters. Krause was a drama major at college, has starred on a variety of off-Broadway productions and New York network television series. The family of her father comes from a half-Japanese background and her mother comes from the United States. Her younger brother Nathaniel is an actor. After studying at Washington School of Ballet and participating in plays, musicals as well as other shows by Henry Krieger and Bill Russell in high school she began to focus on her passion for the arts. Krause attended the Carnegie Mellon Drama School after high school. Krause was able to start her acting career soon after. After a successful performance in the musical Aida She was awarded the Equity card. Louisa Krause was first involved in theatre. Her first production was with the Huntington Theatre Company produced her in 2006. She was Iphigenia in the Signature Theatre Company's Iphigenia 2 in 2007.
